Job Duties

  • Install, assemble, and test new machinery and equipment; comprehend and adhere to safety policies in the workplace.
  • Regularly inspect machines for signs of malfunction, such as visual checks, listening for abnormal noise, and scheduled testing as necessary.
  • Maintain watch for, recognize and react immediately to indications of malfunction of machinery such as modifications in performance, changes in temperature, noises, odors, or unusual energy consumption; troubleshoot production machinery.
  • Schedule and conduct regular preventative maintenance and servicing for every piece of equipment.
  • Make emergency repairs on a variety of machinery, such as mechanical, electric, and hydraulic; locate and replace worn or damaged components in a timely fashion.
  • Operate a range of power and hand tools to accomplish job tasks.
  • Keep equipment and the surrounding work area in a state of proper sanitation; develop and sustain a program of inspection, service, and testing of equipment.
  • Read and adhere to work orders regarding servicing, altering, or installing equipment.
  • Cooperate effectively with others as a team in a noisy atmosphere.
