Komatsu Collaborates With Trimble
One of the construction equipment giant Komatsu on 2015 introduced its IT firm Smart Construction to help the customers by making safer fields by using ICT about workers, Machines on its cloud based platform called Kom Connect. KomConnect cloud-based platform to create a safer and more productive site. The solution has been introduced to 3300 job sites so far.
Recently Komatsu announced the news of the partnership with Trimble . The collaboration is for developing an API ( Application Program Interface )  to enable compatibility between their software platforms to improve users ability to exchange 3D construction site data. The collaboration is in response to customer demand for mixed fleet interoperability as well as support for Japan's i-Construction initiative, a plan to drive innovation and revolutionize productivity on construction sites through the use of information and communications technology (ICT), promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
