Tokyo, March 17, 2025 – Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd., HMS Co., Ltd., and Holo-Light GmbH have created new-look XR smart glasses that will be launched on 7-13 April at the bauma exhibition in Munich. The extremely resilient – watertight and dust-resistant – and next-generation accessory enables technicians to: receive remote guidance from their service desk with a visual aid, utilizing XR technology that supports the blending of real and virtual spaces; and provides quick and high-quality onsite service.

The shortage of skilled staff to undertake service and maintenance work on the construction and mining equipment is among the biggest industry challenges, and hence the consolidation of inspection, repair, and related work is urgent. But they find it challenging to use mobile phones with their hands occupied, see several sources of data and speak with professional engineers via online calls.
