Western Hydraulics are a specialized hydraulic hose and fitting service that has been operating for over 28 years. We are a family-operated business and have a philosophy based on excellent technical knowledge and customer service, you will be trained by the best. We are ideally looking for someone to commence immediately in a Service Industry where full training will be provided.

The Role:

As a diesel motor mechanic and mobile hose technician, you will be expected to deliver consistent, accurate, high-quality service to our customers, provide solutions & build relationships with a varying range of customers.  You will operate and maintain a fully equipped van.  All tools of trade will be provided. Your service van is provided for business use and travel to and from work.

The successful applicant will be working on all Hydraulic, Fuel, Grease, and Air Systems. Working with CAT dump trucks 777,773, 20 to 100 Tonne Excavators, Graders, Moxy Trucks, Loaders, Bulldozers, Crushers, Drill Rigs, Fixed Plant and much more.

You will be working on different job sites on a daily basis which makes this job enjoyable. You will be able to work independently in the field and also carry out service and repair work in our Workshop. Our service area covers Metro Central, Northern, and Western Suburbs.

Key responsibilities include: 

Inspecting, testing, and repairing diesel engines and related systems

Installing and replacing hydraulic hose assemblies and components in various machinery and vehicles

Diagnosing hydraulic and mechanical faults and implementing appropriate repairs

Conducting preventative maintenance and performing system adjustments to ensure efficient operation

Operating mobile equipment to provide on-site services, including hydraulic hose replacements and repairs

Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental guidelines during all work activities

Maintaining records of work performed and parts used for service history and inventory management

What we are looking for: 

The role requires strong technical skills in diesel engines and hydraulic systems, as well as the ability to work independently in a mobile, field-based environment. A trade qualification and relevant experience in diesel mechanics and hydraulic systems are typically required.

To be considered for this position you will ideally:

Be able to operate machinery, use tools and measuring devices

Have a mechanical understanding (advantageous, but not necessary)

Willing to learn and have good fitter skills

Have a strong understanding of customer service and show pride in your work and presentation

Have a strong work ethic

Have good numeracy, verbal and written skills

Have the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and problem-solve

Understand OHS and Safe Work Practices

Have a current Australian manual driver's licence

Have a White Card (advantageous, but not necessary)

This role is permanent, full-time:

You will be paid weekly and provided with a fuel card and full uniform

Your ordinary hours of work will be 40 hours per week. You may be required to work additional hours Monday to Sunday (inclusive) to meet operational needs

You will be entitled to four weeks of annual leave per annum and ten working days of sick leave per annum, calculated pro rata

The superannuation contribution rate shall be as required by the Superannuation Guarantee Legislation. All superannuation contributions will be paid quarterly
