A Forklift Mechanic-Technician supports all aspects of building services and facilities maintenance by performing various maintenance tasks. In this role, you will utilize technical knowledge to diagnose and troubleshoot issues, replace faulty parts, and ensure the proper functioning of the equipment.

Job Description

Compensation: 32.05 - 37.55/hr.

This is a Union facility

You will contribute by:

Responsible for repairing, maintaining, installing, and enhancing machinery and mechanical equipment within the Distribution Center.

Mechanical responsibilities may apply to equipment, machinery, electrical, and HVAC. Troubleshoot to diagnose the source of failure.

Perform alignments, adjustments, and tests associated with the installation, relocation, and- or refurbishment of machinery and equipment.

Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) within the manufacturer's guidelines/specifications and established timelines, including oil changes, filter changes, equipment calibration, belt changes, inspections, adjustments, lubrication, etc.

Operate power and hand tools as needed.

Document work performed and adhere to all safety protocols.

Assist the battery technicians by assisting in battery charger repairs, battery changes for MHE, plug and tip repair of batteries and chargers, watering and washing batteries, and acid spill clean-up.

Your work environment may include:

Perishable (Refrigerated) – about 28°- 60°

Frozen – about -20° - 0°

Grocery (dry goods) – about 50°- 90°

We’re searching for candidates with:

Knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, drive units, differentials, braking systems, internal combustion motors, telescopic masts, reach mechanisms, and steering systems.

Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems as they pertain to the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of MHE.

Detailed knowledge of hydraulic systems/schematics/components, electrical systems/schematics both AC and DC systems, drive motors, power amps, and electrical controls including PLC systems.

Detailed knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, drive units, differentials, braking systems, internal combustion motors, telescopic masts, reach mechanisms, steering systems, suspension systems, etc.

HVAC, Industrial Maintenance, and Building maintenance technicians

1: Experience logging work orders and PMs into computerized tracking systems.

2: Experience with Crown, Raymond, and Toyota material handling equipment is a plus.
