What you'll do:

Model and promote good safety practices. Ensure safety is never compromised.
Skillfully operate and maneuver equipment to perform ditching, excavating, backfilling, tamping, breaking, running, etc. with minimal disruption to the surrounding improvements and infrastructure.
Inspect, monitor, and maintain heavy equipment to ensure optimal operation. Identify and address any problems or defects.
Place, remove, and/or maintain materials within the work site.
Work with laborers to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
Secure the work site, equipment, and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and the safety of equipment and materials.
Follow all policies and procedures with strict attention to company and client standards.
Other duties as directed.

Qualifications:

2 years of construction equipment operator with experience with steep slope construction is a plus.
High School Diploma or GED required. Demonstrated related experience may be substituted for required education.
Must pass drug screening and criminal background check.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • The work schedule is Monday - Friday with Saturdays as required.
  • Outdoor work in all types of weather.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, mists, odors and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Exert more than 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; climb, kneel, stand, walk crouch, stoop, reach, pull, pus,h, and other similar tasks requiring physical activity.
