• Carry out initial visual examination for component damage and determine whether functional testing is necessary
• Inspect and validate the part and serial number to identify the part configuration
• Help in conducting initial functional testing to test the part's capability as needed
• Disassemble components, strip coatings, and clean separate parts before inspection of damage, corrosion, and general condition
• Inspect parts required for conformance to relevant manual or engineering requirements
• Document inspection and/or test data and decide pass, reject, or specify repair scheme
• Cost to decide whether repair or overhaul of component is economical and forward parts and labor estimates to supervisor, sales, and/or method groups
• Order parts and/or components necessary
• Replace, refurbish, and/or renovate aircraft components of basic to moderate complexity, such as brakes, wheels and tires, actuators, and struts
