Hyster to Supply Electric Empty Container Handler to CARU Containers B.V

Hyster has revealed its plans to furnish CARU Containers B.V. with a fully battery-operated Hyster® empty container handler, designated for use at the CARU depot located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. This electric empty container handler will rely on 650-volt lithium-ion batteries, drawing power from on-site solar panels situated at the CARU depot. The advent of the electric Hyster Empty container handler presents a substantial opportunity for CARU to curtail its greenhouse gas emissions, concurrently alleviating the financial burden of diesel-related costs.

As a global frontrunner in container trading, our commitment to embedding sustainability across our value chain is resolute, aiming for net zero emissions by 2030. Hence, our interactions with Hyster initiated in 2021 to introduce electric lift trucks and equipment into our depot, ultimately evolving into the introduction of the electric empty container handler.
