Massey Ferguson Updates 6600 Series with New 6700 S Tractors

Topped by a 200 hp model and offering enhanced transmission choices and hydraulic performance, Massey Ferguson has updated its 6600 four-cylinder tractor series.

The new 6700 S series includes six models powered by Agco Power 4.9-litre, four-cylinder engines, delivering maximum outputs from 120 hp to 175 hp. Additionally, Engine Power Management (EPM) provides a 25 hp boost on all models, reaching up to 200 hp on the largest 6718 S. Maximum power is achieved at 2,000 rpm, while peak torque is delivered at 1,500 rpm.

These engines meet Stage 4 emission standards through Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) system. Engine service intervals have increased by 20%, now standing at 600 hours.

Transmission options include:

Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission (available on all but the smallest model)

Dyna-4 and Dyna-6 powershift transmissions (Dyna-6 offers six powershifts in four ranges)

Both powershift options now feature AutoDrive pedal mode, allowing automatic gear changes based on engine load and speed—aiming to maintain low revs and high gear ratios for better efficiency.

Built on a 2.67 m wheelbase, the 6700 S tractors are 500 kg lighter than comparable six-cylinder models. A sculpted front frame provides a 4.75 m turning radius, even when equipped with Massey Ferguson’s integrated front linkage.

Additional Features:

Speedsteer function reduces the number of steering wheel turns needed from lock to lock.

PTO Options: 540, 540E, 1,000, and 1,000E (varies by model)

Dyna-VT models include standard electronic PTO control

Dyna-4 and Dyna-6 models offer mechanical or full electronic PTO controls

Hydraulic System:

Flow rates up to 190 litres/min from a load-sensing system

Up to five rear hydraulic valves available on Dyna-VT models

All rear couplers include decompression levers for easy hookup

Support for front-mounted implements includes up to two independent front hydraulic valves and a dedicated front linkage valve

New rear power beyond system available for on-demand implements with independent flow control (e.g., forage wagons, combi balers, potato planters)
