Material Handler/Forklift Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates daily tracking forms and ensures they are completed on a timely basis and balanced accurately
  • Ensure Occupational Health & Safety policies are followed at all times throughout the warehouse and the rest of the facility.
  • Operate overhead crane safely and responsibly to load Caesarstone slabs onto customer’s vehicles.
  • Drive forklift in a safe and responsible manner to load and unload Caesarstone slabs onto customer’s vehicles and shipping containers.
  • Ensure the delivery docket matches what has been loaded onto the customer’s truck.
  • Unload containers that arrive daily. Scanning receipts according to the procedure.
  • Load and unload semi-trailers for transfer of stock to or from other branches. Accurately recording stock on IPR (Inbound Product Report)
  • Ensure paperwork is completed efficiently and correctly.
  • Participate in monthly inventory counts.
  • Daily equipment inspections.
  • Cleaning/maintenance of the warehouse and yard.    

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional presentation, work ethic, and behavior
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience
  • Current license/certification on Forklift operation
  • Optional current license/certification of Overhead Crane operations
  • Excellent communication, work management, collaboration, and results orientation skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, management, and customers
  • Positive and “can do” attitude, and a confident, polite manner
  • Basic Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Products
  • Working experience with ERP and/or Warehouse Management Systems (Oracle advantage)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Able to work with tight deadlines in a multi-task, high-priority environment

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Overtime and weekend work might be required and able to work both indoors and outdoors
  • Employees may be required to work in potentially hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
  • Employees may be exposed to dust, hazardous chemicals, and high levels of noise.
  • Employees may be exposed to uncomfortable work settings; and may have long combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting.
