SUMMARY

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for a variety of warehouse tasks using an RF and various material handling equipment. The material handler follows best practice processes to ensure we are efficient and accurate and provide quality and on-time orders for our customers.

SHIFT: MIDNIGHT - Sunday to Thursday 11:00 pm-7:00 am

WALKIE OPERATOR 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The material handler plays an important role in meeting customer agreements, including productivity, accuracy, and service level.
  • Responsible for the handling of products for various operational processes, including receiving, order picking, shipping, and inventory control.
  • This role requires the use of material handling equipment and RF technology.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures to ensure quality and consistency are achieved.
  • Completes material handling tasks as presented on the RF, scanning where possible to avoid manual keying.
  • Participates in inventory activities including physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Moves empty pallets, depositing them at the designated pallet holding location.
  • Keeps the warehouse clean, orderly, and free from obstructions, with all debris placed in proper containers or designated areas.
  • Operates equipment and completes tasks in a manner consistent with company Health & Safety policies.
  • Demonstrates respect for the organization’s values, while maintaining and upholding company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE

Two (2) years warehouse experience, with one year’s operating material handling equipment (MHE) with a proven track record for safety.
Previous experience with RF-based Warehouse Management System (WMS), preferably Red Prairie.

  • Knowledge of warehouse processes, including receiving, order picking, shipping, and inventory control.

  • Knowledge of WMS RF Scanner.
  • Experience with Red Prairie WMS is an asset.
