Job Description

Our diverse Melbourne-based Buildings & Places team is seeking a Professional Hydraulic Engineer to join their team. This presents an opportunity for a Hydraulic professional to work on a variety of projects in aviation, health, education, commercial, and defense.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Undertake hydraulic design through calculations and analysis, leveraging your technical knowledge to provide innovative solutions to clients across a range of projects.
  • Work effectively as part of multi-disciplinary project teams, using your hydraulic and design experience to determine optimal solutions that meet client needs.
  • Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines on major projects while also supporting junior engineers, fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing within the business.
  • Work closely and learn from senior engineers by actively participating in projects of varying size and complexity, enhancing your technical knowledge and skill set.
  • Be involved in diverse design and documentation services including; rainwater harvesting, sanitary plumbing and drainage, trade waste drainage, potable and non-potable water reticulation, hot and warm water systems, energy-efficient and solar hot water heating, specialist water systems, and water-efficient designs.

What are we looking for from you?

  • Relevant Engineering Degree or TAFE Qualification alongside working towards RPEV and other registrations.
  • Ideally, 3 + years’ post-graduation experience, preferably working within a consulting environment with exposure to Australian standards and codes.
  • Technical knowledge of hydraulic systems and design principles within the building services industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority on projects.
  • Full working knowledge of the MS Office suite with exposure to relevant industry software (Revit knowledge preferred, not essential)
  • Due to the project requirements of this role, Australian Citizenship (or on the pathway) is preferred, but not essential.
