Job Summary:

Repairs and maintains hydraulics system and equipment by performing the following duties.

Tech 1

  • Observes, operates, and tests components and systems to detect or verify defects or malfunctions.
  • Disassemble and Inspects components, systems, and lines to detect leaks, contamination, damage, and wear
  • Troubleshooting and repairing failed product reviews assembly drawings, schematics, and test requirements and discussing any issues with the project engineer.
  • Replaces worn, damaged, or defective components
  • Set up and operate the test stand to verify the repair
  • Analysis of product failure
  • Documentation of test performance results
  • Tech 2 (in addition to Tech 1 competencies)
  • Repairs of cooling and lubrication systems, large power units, and electrical systems.
  • Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify components and records changes
  • Verify dimensions for accuracy and quality
  • Writes technical reports to document system operating characteristics, functions, and deviations
  • Verifies function of equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions
  • Reads dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance
  • Devises test equipment setup to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer-returned units
  • Analyzes and interprets test data
  • On defective units, analyze test results to determine the cause of failure
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Stand and walk all-day
  • Lift and carry 75 lbs. without external assistance
  • Bend, twist, lift, and carry frequently
  • Stoop, Squat, and kneel occasionally
