Summary:

Responsible for repairing customer-owned equipment according to Voith specifications by disassembling and inspecting units that are returned for repair or overhaul. The technician reassembles with repaired or replaced parts to meet customer deadlines, with a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity standards. Communication and flexibility are key attributes of a successful candidate.

We are willing and eager to train candidates with demonstrated mechanical experience in rotating equipment maintenance and similar roles.

The hours for this position will be Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembly and repair of machinery, including gearboxes, fluid couplings, torque converters, pumps, and others
  • Read drawings and document precision measurements
  • Utilize crane/hoist, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools
  • Troubleshoot equipment reliability issues
  • Perform work assignments in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Understand and apply the quality of workmanship required for each job
  • Participate in a culture of continuous improvement in both safety and processes
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with rotating equipment
  • Ability to proficiently read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment
  • Mechanical assembly skills.
  • Proficiency with hand, electrical, and air-operated shop tools
  • Knowledge of shop practices, machines, and related equipment
  • Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Analyze problems and develop solutions independently or with teams
  • Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift to 30 pounds at a time.
  • Must have manual dexterity to assemble products or machines as directed.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
  • Must wear gloves and ear protection.
