Responsibilities include:

Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to fabricate lift devices, including scissor lifts, boom lifts, pallet lifters, and custom lifting solutions.

Select appropriate materials, such as steel, aluminum, or composite materials, and use cutting, bending, welding, and machining techniques to fabricate structural components and assemblies.

Assemble fabricated components, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems to build complete lift devices according to design requirements and assembly instructions.

Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements, customization requests, and special features needed for lift devices.

Incorporate additional features, accessories, or safety enhancements, such as guardrails, safety harnesses, remote controls, or sensor systems, as required by customer specifications or industry standards.

Perform quality checks and inspections throughout the fabrication and assembly process to ensure compliance with design specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.

Conduct functional tests, load tests, and safety tests on completed lift devices to verify performance, reliability, and safety features before delivery to customers.

Address any defects, discrepancies, or non-conformities identified during inspections or testing, and implement corrective actions to resolve issues and improve product quality.

Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations governing the fabrication and operation of lift devices, including OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and industry best practices.

Ensure that lift devices are designed, fabricated, and tested to meet applicable safety standards and certification requirements, such as CE marking or UL listing.

Participate in safety training programs, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation efforts to promote a safe work environment and prevent accidents or injuries.

Maintain accurate records of fabrication processes, materials used, labor hours, and equipment maintenance activities to track project progress and costs.

Complete documentation for specific job books.

Prepare reports, certification documents, and compliance records required for regulatory audits, customer inspections, and warranty claims.
 
Vocational training or certification in welding (preferred), metal fabrication, or related field preferred.

Previous experience in metal fabrication, welding, assembly, or manufacturing, with specific experience in lift device fabrication desirable.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Familiarity with fabrication tools and equipment, such as welding machines, and cutting torches

Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and control systems used in lift devices.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and craftsmanship in fabrication and assembly work.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team, communicate effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
