Who We Are

Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

Mojave is known as the city of “Golden Crossroads” because it is located at the nexus of the California Highways 14 and 58. Who You Are

You are a heavy equipment mechanic with leadership experience. You are a dependable team member who can work independently and can assist the company in achieving goals. You are self-motivated and willing to take control of the situation and give direction as needed. You are willing and able to work rotating shifts and have no issue with working in inclement weather. You have experience with and excel at diagnosing and maintenance of heavy construction and/or mining equipment. You excel at troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and engines, assessing failure analysis, and performing major component teardowns. Most importantly, you are a leader and go-getter who is eager to share your knowledge and grow with the company.

Ae Mechanic V, you would service and repair large mining equipment on-site and perform lead duties. You would report to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor. This is a safety-sensitive position.

What You Do

The Mechanic Level 5 will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance on all applicable equipment.
Perform minor and major maintenance repairs to equipment as needed.
Perform major component changeouts and rebuilds.
Welding and fabrication as needed.
Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment.
Diagnose heavy equipment failures and issues.
Perform lead duties.
Maintain records of repairs and preventative maintenance.
Work with expeditors to ensure parts are rendered accurately and timely.
Maintain positive communication with maintenance and operations departments.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment at all times.
Adhere to all safety and standard operating procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

Self-motivated, willing to take control of situations and give directions as needed.
Commitment to working safely and promoting a safe work environment.
7 to 10 years experience in diagnosis and maintenance of mobile construction and mining equipment.
1 to 2 years of team leader experience.
Must know and understand hydraulics and electrical theory.
Able to perform electrical, hydraulic, and engine troubleshooting.
Able to perform major component tear-downs and failure analysis.
Must have own tools and toolbox, up to and including 3/4 drive impact set.
Must have computer knowledge and skills.
Willing and able to do shift work as needed.
Able to climb and lift 50 lbs.
Able to operate a 26,000-pound lube/service truck.
Have a good understanding of lubrication (i.e. greases and oils), their properties, and proper applications.
Driver's license required.
