MB Century has a strong history in the renewable energy sector and we are proud of our strong customer relationships.

Our mechanical, field maintenance team support industrial, hydropower and geothermal projects across NZ, primarily the Central North Island.

You:

Our preferred skill set is that of a Fitter Turner as we are responsible for the ITRs and critical measurements needed for precision alignments. However, if you have hands-on experience with overhauls in the power generation sector we will consider other heavy industry trades. You’ll enjoy and be able to turn your hand to all engineering trades as our crews do it all!

You’ll have earned the respect of your peers and leaders alike for your knowledge, ability to think clearly under pressure,e and for your willingness to support and guide your work team. This is a senior position for someone able to work unsupervised and ideally lead a team of 3-7 people. Our Fitter Supervisors are on the tools working alongside their crew members.

You’ll fit right in if you offer:

A Level 4 trade qualification as a Fitter Turner, Fitter Machinist, or equivalent.
Experience working on shuts/overhauls of heavy rotating equipment or industrial plant
Hydropower maintenance experience will allow you to hit the ground running
Natural leadership with strong engagement and communication skills
Commitment to safe working practices and quality procedures
Flexibility to work extended and flexible hours as and when required - including periodic work outside of Taupo

The Role:

By joining our, Taupo based, Mechanical Fitting team, you’ll enjoy getting out to a variety of client sites, in some seldom seen locations, working with a close-knit team and taking pride in a job well done.

You’ll be performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, refurbishment and general engineering in hydro and geothermal power generation, and working with turbines, heavy rotating equipment, cranage, valves, pumps, fans, heat exchangers etc.
