Description

Walnut Creek Coal Mine is an advanced surface coal mine with high-end equipment, such as an 80-cubic-yard dragline, a 29-cubic-yard mass excavator, a 24-cubic-yard hydraulic backhoe, and a group of 150-ton end-dump trucks. The Walnut Creek Mine is a captive lignite mine with huge capacity, with production of over 2 million tons of lignite per annum. The mine also has a blending program in place to maintain quality lignite for burning in a 308-megawatt power plant.
