About the Role:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working within an enthusiastic team, you will be responsible for undertaking emergency breakdown, preventative, and predictive maintenance on our site's plant, equipment, and mechanical services. Our equipment includes vibrating screens, mills, conveyors, pumps, and more. If you love variety and have a drive for a positive safety culture where you will lead by example - then this role is for you.

The standard working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. However, as our site operates continuously, maintenance staff are required to participate in a rotating call-out roster, with regular opportunities for overtime. The ideal candidate must be available for on-call duties, willing to work additional hours when necessary, and able to work weekends occasionally with short notice.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Preventive Maintenance is completed through proactive inspections and issues are identified and reported before breakdowns occur to the Scheduler.
  • Complete any corrective maintenance on-site in collaboration with the maintenance coordinator. 
  • Ensure that any maintenance that is completed has minimal impact on plant operations.
  • Manage and fix breakdowns in a safe and timely manner and ensure that the plant is returned to service at a high standard.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement across the maintenance team * Proactively understand and learn how the plant operates to become a Subject Matter Expert.

Given the work environment and nature of the role, you must be physically fit and comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights. You will be capable of identifying workplace hazards and continually looking for improvements that we can make to our systems and processes. Your easy-going nature will mean you will fit right into our experienced team of skilled fitters.

Ideal Skills & Experience:

  • A relevant trade qualification
  • Proven experience in a similar environment
  • A high level of energy & the ability to work in high-pressure environments 
  • Experience working in an effective team environment 
  • Experience with rotating and/or materials handling equipment
  • Additionally, skills in either of the following would be highly desirable:
  • Manual machining *
  • Hydraulics 
  • Limited electrical licenses 
  • Continuous improvement 
  • Excellent communication skills along with a professional approach to your work
