XVI International Symposium on Ecohydraulics in Lausanne

XVI International Symposium on Ecohydraulics in Lausanne

Thirty-two years after its first edition in Trondheim, the International Symposium on Ecohydraulics (ISE) will, for the first time, be held in Switzerland—Europe's "water tower." The ISE 2026 will be held in the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), which is held by the Swisstech Convention Center on the EPFL campus. The conference will include masterclasses before the conference and workshops on laboratory experiments, fieldwork, simulations using numerical methods, societal issues, and hydropower mitigation. ISE 2026 will include five themes, in addition to the Swiss Ecohydraulics Day, which integrates research and practice via different field visits. The special program, "Ecohydraulics Meets Landscape Architecture," will focus on the ways in which ecohydraulics affects urban stream ecology, as well as designing sustainable riverine as well as urban landscapes. The stunning scenery of Switzerland around Lausanne provides breathtaking perspectives from Lake Geneva and the Alps. Lausanne is home to rich cultural activities while retaining a humane, welcoming atmosphere. The Local Organizing Committee, along with the IAHR Technical Committee of Ecohydraulics, is looking eagerly to welcome the guests of Lausanne for 2026!
