Job Opportunity - Assembler

This is a unionized position with a probationary rate of $30.61.

Assembly rotation is 2 weeks day shift and 1 week afternoon shift.

The Assembler will assemble and test all product line valves using best practices, processes, and internal controls within the assembly area.  Knows commonly used functional & technical concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing. Can operate safely and ensure they can put forth a quality component every time.   

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Assembles a complete pump when shown the procedures. 
Cuts, files, scrapes. Fits, levels, balances, aligns, etc to meet all desired inspection and design requirements.
Must be able to read and interpret drawings and must be able to detect potential problems that may arise and work with supervision.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and assembly & test procedures.  
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge of product and assembly/test applications.
Ability to operate a forklift, and reach trucks and cranes.
Ability to do basic manual lathe and milling operations.

Education and Experience

Minimum high school education.
One to two years experience in Assembly/Test.
Experienced in interpreting work orders.         
Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Perform in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.
Must comply with all Health and Safety standards, such as but not limited to steel-toed footwear and other appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
