Nottingham based Filter Technik Wins Major Test Rig Contract from Meggitt PLC

Nottingham-based Filtertechnik has won a significant contract with Meggitt PLC to design and manufacture complex test rigs for certifying heat exchangers used in the aerospace sector. This contract, valued at over £500,000 ($622,000), is one of the largest single orders Filtertechnik has ever secured.

Filtertechnik, known for its high-quality filtration solutions for oils and process fluids, will create rigs to test heat exchangers for pressure, temperature, and flow characteristics, as well as fluid cleanliness. These test rigs will form part of Meggitt’s end-of-production testing line, ensuring that the heat exchangers meet stringent performance criteria before deployment. The process includes forward and reverse flushing cycles to remove production contaminants, followed by flow and pressure tests to verify performance parameters. The results will be logged and stored for traceability.

The rigs will be installed in Meggitt's new state-of-the-art global headquarters, which will serve as a center of excellence for heat exchanger technology. This move underscores Meggitt's commitment to advancing its operations in the UK and its confidence in Filtertechnik's expertise.
