Job Duties:

  • Proficient in or able to acquire proper procedures for running different heavy motor equipment, such as backhoes, mowers, compactors, front-end loaders, heavy rollers, excavators, tub grinders, hydro-excavators, waste collecting machinery, street sweepers, paving machines, etc.
  • Run snow removal machinery for roads, sidewalks, and parking areas.
  • Recognize and report when equipment is due for routine maintenance or requires repair.
  • Maintains daily records on the operation and maintenance of motor equipment; notifies proper personnel of any difficulties.
  • Directs and aids in daily truck loading and unloading and planning of tasks assigned to Maintenance Workers, Groundskeepers, and other employees.
  • Work individually or in teams in the carrying out of street maintenance, horticulture management, and waste collection services.
  • Repairing and repaving streets, sidewalks, and curbs. Reconstruct street inlets and catch basins.
