Heavy Equipment Operator

The full-time job of Shredder Operator (Heavy Equipment Operator) has the reporting duty to the Shredder Team Lead within the Quality Team and is tasked with operating the shredder machinery in a professionally and technically proper manner with an emphasis on quality at Aurubis Richmond. This encompasses (but is not limited to): loading shredders with excavators or wheel loaders, operating, maintaining, and cleaning various shredder equipment, and overseeing automatic raw material sampling. The successful applicant will have demonstrated evidence of day-to-day operations in the operation of shredder machinery (preferably electronic scraps) alongside experience in operating mobile equipment, is devoted to quality and precision in carrying out assigned tasks, accustomed to working in shifts, and is concerned with safety and environmental issues.

The emphasis of this role is on the execution, and ongoing optimization of procedures in sample preparation with emphasis on recycling raw materials for non-ferrous metallurgy. This encompasses operating in a fixed shift operating shredder and other Quality Team equipment for all materials that are needed while ensuring maximum quality, offsetting costs, and minimizing risks. This position assists the Quality Team Manager in securing operational excellence in Aurubis Richmond.
