Mechanical Technician

The Mechanical Technician optimizes the performance of mechanical products, machinery, and equipment. They assist the mechanical supervisor to analyze performance results and maintain mechanical equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

Installing and performing diagnostic tests on mechanical system
Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs. 
Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records.
Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies.
Optimizing mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.
Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment.
Check equipment and operating systems and correct them wherever necessary.
Handle personal tools for the job including to date documented personal tool list.
Handle time accounting and complete HOTSOS work order.
Use hand tools like power equipment and rigging equipment daily.
Weld using a cutting torch.
Handle simple and complex heavy industrial equipment like scissor lifts and building equipment units (BMU).
Resolve motor, pump, conveyor, and hydraulic problems
Ensure a high level of technical support to lower-level technicians

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum of three (3) years of working experience in the Engineering Department in a hotel
Knowledge of Engineering Operations in the Hotel
Previous experience in the operation and maintenance of Electrical and Mechanical equipment
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain commercial equipment and related installations in the Hotel
High school diploma or GED and/or an associate degree supplemented by specialized training in the mechanical trades
