Southworth Products Inc., located in Manila, AR, has immediate openings for experienced Welder Fabricators on weekdays and Weekends.

Primary Functions:

  • Read and understand blueprints (Ansi Y14.5) and weld symbols & bill of material. Able to work alone in producing custom products with the information communicated as a set of instructions.
  • Layout, position, fit, and weld components to assemble machinery according to blueprints and/or written and verbal instructions. Each build may be different. Need to be able to weld complex and unique projects.
  • Machines typically include electrical and hydraulic components. As part of the build will be expected to assemble basic switches and buttons for electrical use and to also assemble simple hydraulics for the machines.
  • Proficiently use various welding equipment following established procedures and work practices, while achieving an acceptable level of quality (MIG welder, torch, grinder, etc.)
  • Run quality checks and discern between good and bad weld quality
  • Cross train to fulfill duties as needed in other areas to meet customer requirements
  • Occasionally participate in team projects related to safety, efficiency, quality, or other areas as deemed necessary
  • Provide proper housekeeping, care of equipment, and safe operating procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have developed welding techniques and experience using MIG, plasma cutters, and cutting torches
  • Must have experience reading and understanding blueprints, reading and working with a tape measure, painting, metal fabrication, and electrical assembly (i.e. 3 phase motors, simple push buttons).
  • Must be able to plumb, flare, bend, and assemble hydraulic hoses and tubing. The ideal candidate is already familiar with or able to quickly learn based on previous mechanical aptitude.
  • 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated good judgment, dependability, and satisfactory work quality and quantity
  • Experience working as part of an effective team through personal interaction based on trust, respect, and communication, problem-solving individually, as well as team efforts
  • Must be able to bend, twist, reach, grasp with fingers, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have basic knowledge of hand tools and pneumatic/electric power tools.
  • Must be willing to complete an assessment including tape measure reading, blueprint reading, and welding assessment
