2nd Shift Forklift Operator

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Works from verbal and written instructions as furnished by the supervisor or other authorized individual.
• Transfers lumber to all positions on lumber yard; some lumber is strapped up and balance of lumber is not strapped.
• Loads and unloads kilns, pre-dryer, steam box, stacking racks, tally chains, and trucks as needed. Loads sticks into the stick shuttle.
• Places lumber on cross pieces and cross pieces on lumber as per set procedures to avoid lumber damage.
• Transfers from work area to work area as necessary to ensure production flow.
• Operates large tow motor (fork lift) when necessary based on bundle size and loading needs of any given job. Must be qualified and trained before operating any size tow motor (fork lift) (i.e., does not drive any other powered vehicle unless trained and certified).
