Job Description

Purpose

Mechanics examine, diagnose, keep in working order, or repair crane systems, from its frame to the engines and electrical or computer systems. Fleet vehicles encompass cranes, crane equipment, boom trucks, trailers, pickup trucks, and semis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for doing preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, booms, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, brakes, and other basic components
  • Operate hoists, forklifts, and/or hand trucks to move, disassemble, and reassemble heavy material and equipment.t
  • Skill to operate and conduct an in-depth examination of machines or heavy equipment to detect defects, faults, or malfunctions and assess necessary repairs
  • Inspect mechanical goods and equipment after repair or assembly to verify acceptable performance and meet manufacturer and OEM specifications.
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles by cleaning, lubricating, and carrying out other periodic maintenance tasks.
  • Read and comprehend operating manuals, blueprints, and technical diagrams
  • Makes, alters, and installs specialized equipment or replacement parts with specialty tools
