Delivery Material Handler

Delivery Material Handlers work in teams and are responsible for the safe and efficient delivery, unloading, and placement of building materials onto customer sites including residential, commercial, and industrial building construction sites in Calgary and surrounding areas.  

DUTIES

• Deliver, unload, and place building materials according to customer specifications.
• Operate remote-controlled picker cranes, rough terrain forklifts, and conveyors.
• Drive 4/5 axle trucks with tridem pup trailers to job sites ( up to 8 axles) - depending on license classification.
• Hoist building materials 
• On a typical day, you may drive 20% of the time and you may operate a crane or Moffett forklift 20% of the time. The rest of the time you and a colleague are physically handling (unloading and placing) heavy building materials into residential/commercial structures (construction sites).  

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driver's abstract (no more than 2 minor violations)
• Previous experience driving delivery trucks and operating other machinery
• Ability to work at heights (residential rooftop deliveries)
• Ability to lift over 100lbs repeatedly and for extended periods
• Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, carry, and lift heavy, bulky items
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Must successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Must provide a satisfactory criminal record check
