Duties

  • Construct and assemble mechanical and hydraulic systems, subsystems, and components, including valves, manifolds, and pumps.
  • Construct, crimp, and test hydraulic hose assemblies.
  • Fabricate and assemble fluid system components from an engineering drawing or schematic.
  • Troubleshoot, service, and repair tunnel equipment, including the tunnel boring machine.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul mechanical equipment like pumps, chillers, or gearboxes.
  • Support excavation/boring work through and including the construction/installation of the tunnel support lining using a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM).
  • Labor underground and perform assorted construction activities like rail construction, grout pumping, cable pulling, and ring construction.
