Mechanical Installer

Hitachi is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Installer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated professionals.  The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities (include but are not limited to) :

1. Adhering to a predetermined schedule of installation activities on transit vehicles for the installation of propulsion systems, truck installation, pneumatic supply and brake control, air conditioning, fiberglass panels/glass/flooring/doors as required to meet manufacturer specifications.
2. Utilizes measuring or precision measuring devices as part of the work.
3. Measures and inspects completed work to ensure it meets specifications.
4. Accurately documents findings in the provided Test Reports for incorporation into Car History Books, that follows each completed vehicle such as torque values recorded, part and serial numbers.
5. Performs rail vehicle modifications as instructed by engineering and supervisory personnel.
6. Can read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and work orders.
7. Documents work performed and materials and parts utilized in the work performed; follows prescribed safety procedures.
8. May perform welding and burning.
