Mechanic

Brampton is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated professionals.  The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations.

Responsibilities

• Makes repairs to all Transit vehicles, such as diesel, gas engines, brakes, transmission, tires, etc. Makes minor body and glass repairs when needed. 
• Operates computerized diagnostic equipment, including a printer, and performs road tests to identify repairs needed on vehicles. Transports vehicles to/from outside repair facilities, streets, and roads, etc. 
• Carries out daily running repairs and scheduled maintenance inspections. 
• Performs service calls and attends to on-site to make repairs to vehicles as needed to transport them to the garage. 
• Operates cutting and welding equipment when needed. 
• Familiar with air systems, hydraulic systems (transmissions, fluid fans).  
• Diagnoses and repairs hydraulic equipment for transit vehicles; checks, fixes, and replaces pumps, valves, oil, and relevant components. 
• Cleans vehicle body and engines as needed to make repairs; installs decals, mats, safety equipment, and first aid equipment.  
• Prepares a list of repair parts needed for the foreman.
