Duties and Responsibilities

• Receives assignments from supervision.
• Receives parts and sub-assemblies in work area.
• Uses drawings, bills of materials, and assembly forms.
• Assembles piping and supports from blueprints and test forms.
• Assembles turbomachinery according to assembly procedure while maintaining required dimensions and clearances.
• Makes mechanical attachments and runs electric motors and test units.
• Receives unit in position, aligns it, secures it, and makes pre-run checks.
• Runs the unit to make adjustments and observations as required including instruments and auxiliaries.
• Records performance data on specified forms.
• Records settings and signs forms.
• Burns off various materials to fabricate or disassemble scaffolding and piping supports as required.
• Inspects unit for non-boiling errors and takes corrective action where possible.
