Heavy Equipment Operator Apprentice

Granite is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator Apprentice to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment used in environmental services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Achieve 144 hours of instructor-related training per year.
• Accumulate 2,000 hours of on-the-job training (OJT) under the supervision and direction of a journey-level and/or Supervisor.
• Utilize knowledge gained from class instruction, including but not limited to safety practice and procedures for the operation of heavy equipment, including but not limited to Backhoe, Loader, Forklift, Excavator, Skid Steer, Scraper, Compaction Equipment, Dozer, Dump Truck.
• Acquire safe and effective techniques for executing different tasks such as but not restricted to road construction, fine grading, finishing, sloping, banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, loading, excavating, stockpiling, road surface maintenance, road berm building and maintenance, truck loading, and trenching.
