Solid Waste Transfer Equipment Operator (Excavator, Loader)

GFL Environmental is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Solid Waste Transfer Equipment Operator to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about operating a wide range of excavators, loader equipment used in environmental services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations.

Responsibilities and Obligations

• Drives large semi-tractor trailer or roll-off motorized equipment to transport bulk solid waste material through restricted loading/unloading areas, on unpaved roads, and on high-traffic roads and highways in compliance with all DOT and County safety regulations and guidelines.
• Other heavy equipment like front-end loaders, excavators, and skid steers is operated to undertake a range of solid waste operating functions, for example, the reception of waste, loading of trailers, handling roll-off containers, and clean-up operations.
• Operates hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical auxiliary equipment associated with assigned tractors and trailers.
• Inspects and verifies that equipment is repaired and in sound working condition; repairs equipment and ensures that routine maintenance and major repairs are carried out.
